Writing and Directing

for Stage and Screen
Louise works as a Freelance Writer and Director. With an established reputation for creating sensitive and powerful narratives, she has many years of experience making AFFECTIVE work for young audiences, a particular passion and area of expertise.
She also makes work for older audiences – and her current commission with National Theatre Wales - 'MEDIUM RARE' - explores the turbulent later years of a woman's life, and her responses to this 'dangerous world'.
Louise would love to begin conversations with anyone interested in her practice or in potential collaborations.

Performer

Recently Louise has returned to the rehearsal 'floor' working as a collaborative performer/devisor with Likely Story Theatre. She is looking forward to both developing and touring with 'Seatown Ladies' during 2015/16.

"Being offered time with theatre professionals has been invaluable. Louise Osborn, as dramaturg, helped me to ensure cohesion within the story, to chip away at identifying my central ideas, and to ground my 'environmental' theme into a very human story... supportive and constructive..."
Emily Hinshelwood - Writer and Winner of Pontardawe Script Slam 2012

"I count myself as very fortunate to have had Louise as the consultant dramaturge for my first play. At all stages, her guidance was incisively perceptive without ever being prescriptive. In a deft and supportive manner she helped me gain a deeper understanding of the vision and concepts underpinning my work and the means to realise these ideas more effectively in the drama."
Shane Anderson - Winner of Script Slam, Pontardawe 2014
